Cannot scratch while on vinyl mode

I just returned my XDJ-RX2 thinking it was a defect but this one is doing the same thing. I can't scratch while it's playing only when paused. I have the latest software also. I only got it too work once. I think it maybe something to do with when I add new music or update my USB
