A Time Machine backup should be ok but to be on the safe side do a
File -> Library -> Backup Library to an external drive. And include all the music files.
Hey there,
So recently my MacBook pro (2011) has been running very slow. Ive spoken to a senior apple advisor and he suggested the only option to try now is completing erasing everything from my computer and reinstalling the operating system. Im just wondering if anyone has ever done this before? Will I be able to recover all the data within my current rekordbox (i.e. memory points, hot cues, playlists etc)? This is my only concern before uninstalling and reinstalling the operating system. If it means I lose all my rekordbox data I need to find another solution.
I have backed up my computer using Time Machine. Not sure if this transfers rekordbox data, which is then attainable to transfer to a computer again?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Ayla.

Thanks so much for your reply! Ive just tried doing File > Library > Backup Library with my external drive plugged in, however, when I go to choose the 'Backup Library' option the writing is in grey and I cannot select it? Do you have any suggestions as to why? Want to get it backed up asap.
@Ayla > Yes, your data would be wiped. As @Henrik says, best to backup. I answered your question about that menu not being available in this thread. Please don't multi-post.
