It can't be done with any reliable accuracy due to the difference in the audio data itself. We don't recommend it, better to create a new entry in your collection and manually replicate the cues / hot cues.
Hi there!
I'm new to the whole DJing thing, and I've been getting pretty used to the rekordbox software, but before I continue delving deep, I want to check on something that I haven't been able to find an answer to...
I've been using VBR quality mp3s for general listening, and I've been told that 320 CBR is what I should be using for DJing if I want to stick with mp3s (since I don't really have the storage to convert my entire library to lossless unless it is absolutely necessary). I already have some hot cue points set on some VBR files that I want to keep, but I have no idea if when I download and replace the VBR files with 320 CBR if it will keep all of the cue and beatgrid data.
Will I have to start all over with finding my cue points or is there a way to replace the old mp3s with the new without sacrificing my work?

I've only done this by accident... I've replaced an MP3 file previously and it did save all the extra info such as Cue Points and Loops. The filename of both files were the same, which is probably an important point.
I think I'm right in saying that all the extra info is held in a separate file.
I would try it with a single file and if it works, back everything up and have at it.
