XDJ-RX bpm counter fluctuating by .3 on all tracks

So I was using the system with no problems, I use usb sticks, I haven't used recordbox, don't even know how and haven't seen the need.  I am happy just popping in a usb and playing.

Couple nights ago I put on some tunes and the BPM counter is continuously changing and seems to go up and down 0.3 bpm.  This has been consistent happening on all tracks, tracks I've used many times before with no fluctuation.

I don't believe the actual music(sound) is changing BPM though, I think it's just on the digital counter on the screen.

This happens on both decks and both decks fluctuate pretty much the same, up 0.3 or down 0.3

I also don't use beat sync or anything, I just play tracks normally off my usb, they are tracked purchased from Beatport or Traxsource and are high quality.

Any ideas of what's happening here?
Is there anyone in Nova Scotia who can take a look?

My guess is that since you haven't analyzed the tracks in Rekordbox, the RX2 is determining the non the old fashioned way and therefore has some variation. I would consider this normal, especially in a busy track. Try analyzing the tracks in Rekordbox. It only takes a second and you can analyze all tracks at once. It seems to do a pretty good job in my opinion.

ok, can you walk me through this?

Do I do this on the XDJ?  or do I do it on my computer?  software required?

if this works it will be nice, but it certainly doesn't address the problem.  It worked fin before using USB, and the same tracks and USB have worked fin on other CDJs, and controllers.  I'be pretty surprised if Pioneer made a USB option that only works right sometimes on purpose.

Rekordbox is required. Slight adjustments can be made on the RX2 but not like the software. Basically just import your files into the Rekordbox collection, right click the file and select analyze. It is usually right from the start without much user intervention. Then export your collection, playlist etc. To your sub drive by right clicking and selecting export. The manuals describe the analysis procedure well. You will almost certainly want to do this. It may be a decent amount of work at first but once you get all your tracks analyzed it's not much work as you add tracks.

Ok, so if someone could link me to the correct rekordbox download, I guess I'll try it out and hope for the best

Thanks

and yea I have no manual or anything to help me, I bought the system second hand it it came with just the controller and case, no manual.

So, is there a certain version of rekordbox I need?  is there a walk through available?

is this going to be free?  or will I have to pay?

and to be clear - I need rekorbox downloaded to my computer, then I can run my tracks through it, and then I can put those tracks on a usb and use it on the controller?
