DJM-2000NXS Not Showing As Input on Mac OSX 10.13.2

I've been having trouble getting my DJM-2000NXS to show up as an input device on my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) running OSX High Sierra 10.13.2 (17C88).

I have already configured my DJM as 6-channel output 2-channel input 16 bits under the DJM-2000 Settings.

However under Audio MIDI Setup DJM-2000 (also wondering if it should also show as DJM-2000nxs?) it is showing as 0 ins / 6 outs.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers multiple times (on separate mac machines running same OSX), made sure firmware for DJM-2000nxs is up to date (v3.20). At this point I don't know what else to do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

*edited: title to correct mac version

Hi, I have the same problem. Once I was going to use Audacity it has occured that DJM2000nxs is not compatible. I unconsciously upgraded mac os to high sierra 10.13.2 few days ago. I reinstalled drivers few times but still I cannot use mixer as input source. However it is visible as output source. I saw the same print screen as above. Does anyone has an idea on this issue? Any support would be highly appreciated.

Hi Mariusz,

I sent Pioneer Product Support a request on Friday. I’ll let you know if I ever get a response from them. Seems the common factor is we both (regrettably) updated to the newest Mac OS. High Sierra has been nothing but problematic since I’ve updated. :(

Hi Mariusz,

Sorry no FB here, not much of a social media person.

I tried following those steps as well but that didn't work either. I believe there has to be some conflict between the latest Mac OSX version and Pioneers Driver for the DJM-2000nxs.

I've come to a successful temporary workaround but that involved having to install Parallels Desktop and running Windows 10 via Parallels on my iMac. From there I just went through the process of installing Windows Drivers for DJM-2000nxs. My mixer from that point was now showing as both an input and output device. From there I was able to use the program to record/stream my set using Windows

I sincerely hope Pioneer fixes this issue soon though.

Thank you for your answer. Ok then, I stop fighting with this as I spent over 7 hours now. So it means that if under Windows drivers it works then for sure it is incompatible with mac OS HS. BTW, at my side everything was ok (as I often record sets during my live sets) until mid of last week once I mada upgrade to mac OS HS but I thought that maybe I do not follow some of the basic configurations at Mac. Did you use Audacity as well, Mychal?

Yeah, I have been troubleshooting this problem for about a week now. And that was my assumption, since it's the same hardware (iMac) just running a virtual machine of a different operating system. And same here it wasn't until I updated to the latest version of HS that I noticed the mixer wasn't showing as an input anymore. I have used audacity to record sets, but I've recently gotten to using Mixlr, since it also streams and records a copy at the same time. I find it easier to go back and listen to them afterward if they're already posted online somewhere an Mixlr did a pretty good job of that.

Hope the temporary workaround works out for you.

Perfect. Thank you. If you get any answer form Pioneer I appreciate if you can share it with me. Thanks also for info on mixlr, I'll check it. In touch, Man:)

Same problem since the update - the update does state that it improves compatibility with certain third-party USB audio devices.... But clearly not the DJM-2000 Nexus!!!

Come on Pioneer, please sort this!

It was working momentarily before Apple released the latest build for High Sierra 10.13.2. I received a reply from Pioneer for the support request I submit but it wasn't any help. They asked me to:

Please contact us at (800)421-1404 for further assistance.
Agents are available between the hours of 10:30 A.M. – 2:30 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Eastern (excluding holidays)

Unfortunately I'm busy with school and work this week so I don't have an opportunity until Friday to call and troubleshoot.

I'll keep you updated once I do get around to doing so.

Hi Guys

i too am struggling with this issue.  As an ex traktor scratch user my work around has been to use my audio 8 soundcard, but his is far from ideal.   Again i put in a request with pioneer but heard nothing!!

The djm 2000 nxs is still a current product, not even a legacy yet.

Come on pioneer please dont leave us hanging!!

Pulse@pioneer can you help??

Hi guys,

I am having the same problem, took me ages to find my way here, I've lost the ability to record my sets. Logic doesn't see the DJM2000NXS as an input but only as an output. This occurred after upgrading to High Sierra. I installed the latest drivers dated 2016 after the update and still have the same problem. So I installed Audacity to try and enable recording of sets, no go there either.

I sure hope Pioneer are going to sort this problem asap, I have shows and performances to do and this has put a big spanner in the works :(

Yes, multiple times. On a fresh install of High Sierra, across multiple devices... The issue doesn't seem to be with High Sierra's driver security any longer since the DJM-2000nexus is being read as a device by OSX, just not as an input device as everyone here has stated. It's been well over a month since I first created this thread and I find the lack of official response kind of jarring, especially since this piece of equipment is touted as Pioneer DJ's Flagship mixer device. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I don't mean to be a burden but if anything can be done to make this a priority so I can gladly go back to enjoying this great piece of technology as it was intended, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes we have seen the announcement, sadly not good enough :(. I have tried everything as have those above, even gave the DJM-REC app a go but doesn't seem to be compatible with the DJM2000NXS via iphone 7 plus as the 2000nxs doesn't have a USB send return. I am getting very frustrated as can't find a way to firstly get the DJM to be seen as an input.

I've tried Logic/Ableton and Audactiy, installing drivers multiple times, spending hours going through preferences and settings. All I get when I open Logic to record, is would you like the DJM2000NXS to be the output. Everything was working fine before High Sierra, grrrrrr annoying. Come on Pioneer, we love your kit but I am sure every Mac/DJM2000NXS user is pulling their hair out at the moment.

Damn Apple lol, love their tech too, darn updates have a habit of screwing things up. They managed to kill my ipod with an update lol which they kindly replaced mind you. So yes thank you Apple.

Thanks Pulse :)

Hello,

Wondering if there are any updates? Getting to the point where I'm losing out on revenue because I can't use my equipment properly.

Thanks,

This is getting very frustrating, I am losing out big time, I have weekly shows to prepare and not being able to record is putting the nail in the coffin. This has been a long while now :(. If it is Apple that is the issue, what are they going to do regarding compensating for this and others losses. I feel like getting on the phone to Apple and having a right old rant right now.
