Connecting ethernet cable to XDJ-RZ disconnects RB Export Link Mode with Laptop

For the past few weeks, I've been able to connect my XZ to my laptop via USB cable and also connect the XZ to my wifi router (I've been doing this to stream metadata to another laptop running prolink tools). 

I'm able to connect the XZ to my laptop via Export Link and select/play songs but when I connect the ethernet cable (to any of the 3 ports) it severs the link to my laptop and goes into the emergency loop!

I've not updated my OS or Rekordbox in the last 2-3 weeks and have been able to do this fine so not sure whats going on here. 

Any troubleshooting tips are welcome!
