Analysed track waveform quiet then loud on waveform

The volume on analysed tracks goes from quiet to very loud to quiet and so-on suddenly, exactly the same as this post.

https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/11434048387993-Rekordbox-6-6-5-Analysed-track-waveform-quiet-then-loud-on-waveform-Analysis-problem-

The issue only affects Rekordbox on Windows 11. I can analyse the track on Windows 10 no problem. This is preventing me from upgrading my laptop and I live in fear that the problem will happen when I'm playing.

There was no solution to this post, comments were just disabled. What's the cause and solution please?

It's a known issue with the 22H2 update for Windows 11 that is causing problems with the AAC codec (used by M4A files). This is not within our control and I encourage you to either report your complaint to Microsoft or consider cross-converting your file to another format.

Thank you for your understanding.

Just to be sure,

Are you running the latest version of RekordBox? Latest drivers for you computer?

Yes - RB 6.6.10 (Problem also existed in RB 6.6.9). All latest versions of drivers. Does not affect RB on Win10.

Searching around, seems like there might be a codec issue affecting RB on Win11 for M4A files, but one would think there would be some info from AlphaTheta (Pioneer) on this - and specifically, a realistic workaround (i.e. It's not realistic to have to convert all my M4A's to another format).

This issue basically makes RB unusable on Win11 for these file types.

Oh, Now I got the point.

I'm not sure how RB uses its codecs, but I would try something k-lite codec pack just to try. If not, maybe converting would be a unrealistic workaround

I don't want to install 3rd party codecs to resolve an issue that should be fixed in product. Let's see what information these guys come up with.
