Yes, that is correct.
You can use the X1 while mixer is connected, otherwise you would need to have a paid plan activated in order to use it.

MIDI Kontrol X1
Hello,
I own the following equipment:
1xDJM-750MKII
2xCDJ-2000NXS
2xCDJ-2000
Recently I purchased a Kontrol X1 to help me prepare my sets in the computer, before moving to the decks.
The thing is that Rekordbox on my computer only enables MIDI when my mixer 750MKII is connected via usb, otherwise, I doesn't allow me to use my Kontrol X1.
I thought I spent enough money in PIONEER equipment, but it seems that now I have to pay a monthly subscription to be able to use a simple MIDI device? Please tell me I'm doing something wrong. I already registered my equipment under my account and still unable to use MIDI.
