On every pioneer mixer there is an "Master ATT knob" in the back of the mixer, then you can choose the MAX volume the mixer can generate.
In my DJM 900 I get really low volume in some clubs, and I just noticed there isn't any knob in the back of the mixer (in other pioneer mixers there it) who can gain more volume.
Any ideas?

@Transporter goz Do yourself a favor and read the manual. You can change the Master Att. in the Club Setup. Instructions on page 22.

Ok i've found it. It was on 0DB which is the maximum master ATT volume and its still low on some clubs..

Yes - I had DJM600 who was really louder..
The 900 has equivalent output levels -- if you think it's quiet, there may be something post-mixer which is attenuating the signal.
Thats what I was thinking too; something further along the audio path.
I know some clubs around here are paying more attention to just how far the DJ can drive their system.
Hey guys, until one week ago I was using the same gear, Serato SL 4 + CDJ400 + DJM600, and I got louder volume.
Now with the DJM 900 the volume is quieter.
DJM900 manual, page 26: Master1 Output level: +8dBu (1.95V)
DJM600 manual, page 25: Master2 Output level: +4dBm (1.23V)
Technically, the 900 is louder.

It's weird, when im using DJM 600 Master 2 (RCA) its still louder then DJM 900 output 1
RCA is a different matter from XLR (as I referenced)...
DJM900 Master2: +2dBu (-0.22dBv)
DJM600 Master1: 0dBv (2.22dBu)
Essentially identical.
I could plug RCAs into a 50,000W system and they'll be louder than if I ran XLRs to a pair of desktop speakers ... it's more to do with the outboard equipment than the connection type; XLRs typically have a higher nominal output level than RCAs.
In RCA world, the DJM900 RCA sends 0.98V as compared to 1.95V on the XLR. The DJM600 sends 1.00V on the RCA vs. 1.23V on the XLR.
But again, it depends what's downstream from that signal. Is it consumer or pro gear? What voltage is it expecting?
I dont know the voltage, but I tell you, TILL THE LAST WEEK I used DJM 600 + CDJ 400 + SL4 and the volume was LOUDER.
Now I use DJM 900 with THE SAME CDJ 400 + SL4, and the volume it quiter.
Maybe this is becaouse the RCA out of the DJM 600 is louder then the RCA out of the 900 ?
Are you running the levels the exact same on the 900 as you were on the 600? What are you running the outputs TO?
I had a DJM-500 plugged into a Denon home audio reciever, Att nob on the back of the mixer was set at about +-6 oclock. Trim nobs at about 1 oclock. Faders all the way up. I was using TSP2 and a NI Audio DJ 8 sound card plugged into a 2011 15" Macbook pro. I sold the 500.
The same day I went out and bought a DJM-900. I plugged the DJM-900 from Master 2 (RCA's) into the Denon reciever via the same RCA's, and the USB cable from the Macbook into the 900. The sound coming out of the speakers was noticably lower. I adjusted the output level via the DJM 900 setup utility on the Mac, but the audio output is still noticably lower. The Master Level nob in the upper right of the 900 is at 2 oclock (any higher the lights get into the red). The faders are all the way up, and trim at 12 oclock (I guess I could set them to 1 oclock for an apples to apples comparison). I figured there was some place in the setup to adjust the Att digitally, I haven't looked into it closely yet.
I have yet to test the mixer out on my PA, give the specs Pulse has noted above, I'm guessing the output through the XLR's might be a bit higher than the 500. I'll test that this week.
I also upgraded the DJM-900's firmware from version 1.20 to 1.21, although I doubt you needed to know that.
Ive also tried the XLR output, its better, but not loud as the DJM 600 output..
All i have to add to this is I have the 800 and 900 and they are equally as loud, and plenty loud too on the big systems I use. Maybe possible something is wrong with your 900? You have the menu set to 0db? gains up at top of each channel plenty before raising volume? etc...

but when I get into the red lines on the volume metter I just reduce the trim till it's not more red, and then (in some places) the volume isn't too loud, not like DJM 600 has..
hi sorry to post here but, anybody knows hot to reset the db lights on a pioneer djm600, when i play with somes tunes its always 4 0 5 lights red and its not overloading . its any way to reset those lights ?? thanks
