Thanks for the speedy reply as that was something that I did not know and find to be very useful it was not exactly what I meant.

Pre fader meaning that if I have a delay on channel 1 as long as the  volume is up the line fader  and the cross fader is on the effect is audible.  (This is the default setting of the mixer and primitive might I add)

Post fader would allow the signal of the effect to be audible after the faders were closed.
