What does control the Output Level on REC?

Hi,

I'm using DJM 600,700 & 800.

I noticed a problem so far when trying to record a set. During the night, the volume increases (by me) so does the recoding volume.

The problem ist that even if I put my hardware audio recorder to the minimum possible, I still get clipping (it's an m-audio microtrack II).

Can you explain to me what is routed to the REC output channel? I mean how the volume is determined for it. Is it simpler X db lower, or doesn it maybe correspond only to the channel gains and not to the master, or is their another relationship? I need to know this, so I can control the volume of the recorded audio the best, without interfering with my output volume in the club.

Looking at the Block Diagram of the manual I guess it just has a lower AMP which can't be controlled? If so what would be your suggestion?

Tnx!

It's post-fader, pre-master.

If you're wanting to record with consistent levels, you should have your channel levels consistent through the set. If you need to adjust the house volume to make it louder, use the master level as that won't affect the REC or USB REC output.
