What microphone do you recommend? - DJM-2000 or any mixer

Hi all, I'm looking for "the best bang for your buck" microphone that will plug into a Pioneer DJM-2000 mixer or any pioneer mixer for that matter.  Ideally, the microphone would be used in two scenarios.

Scenario #1) Giving a shout out or communicating with the audience at small events (weddings, parties, clubs, etc)

Scenario #2) Creating voice samples and mixing them into my set... For example, using my mixer/microphone, record a countdown and sample/remix that recording during a set.

I've seen hundreds of microphones but ideally, this will be a simple "goose neck" that attaches directly to the mixer and provides reliable and clear quality annunciation.  I'm sure many of you have already spent many man hours looking for a great/affordable mic.  Just hoping for someone to share their research with me.  Thank you!

yeah I agree, If it's just a direct connect and you don't need wireless, The SM58 mic is awesome

Make sure it's not a condenser mic, it will not work in a DJ mixer.

Well, i researched the Shure

Well i researched the Shure SM58 and it's definately not a "gooseneck" microphone....  How do you guys mount this to your mixers?  This looks like a microphone you'd see on a podium..  I'm looking for a mic that's exclusively for the D.J. that can simply plug into your mixer and "bend" to your needs...  Any advice?

I don't know if anyone has mentioned the Shure SM58 but thats what I'd recommend ;)

Its a bomb proof mic - a live vocalist managed to kick over a mic stand during a recent gig which sent my SM58 flying. Naturally, it survived. She didn't though, not when I was finished with her.
