[CLOSED] DJM 900 Echo Effect

I've recently bought a DJM900 and was very disappointed with the way the Echo effect is handled.  Unless I'm doing something wrong, it is very hard to make the effect sound good.  I believe the DJM800 had a good echo effect.  The current one on the DJM900 is difficult to control, especially playing anything that isn't at a perfect synced tempo.

Is there a possible way to change the way the behavior of the Echo effect back to the way of the 800.

Thanks

Niros

Since the mixer is firmware upgradeable, the echo effect should be upgradeable, correct.  I would also like to know who and how you would use the current echo effect, especially if you are playing a song with a lot of swing.

I agree, I stopped using it altogether being that I like to bang it on certain vocals that drop out and it useless being that it's carrying the beat behind, sounds like shit. I started using the "spiral" effect which captures the echo at the exact time you engage the effect the way it should be.

AGREED! the Djm 900 nexus needs a firmware to change the echo effect to work as soon as you engage the effect like the djm 800 did.  @GAVIN, PULSE AND FOSTER can you please forward this thread to the right people so we can get this update.

While we are in the subject can we get a possible upgrade to use the echo as a echo up as well as regular echo?

I've it already put forward as a suggestion for an update, like I had done with the previous thread.

Gavin, thanks. The experiences I've had with a pioneer echo are with the DJM800 and Efx 500 and 1000.  The way the echo is currently on the DJM 900 is really hard to control or make sound good.  It would be great if the engineers that designed the echo could either do a demo of how it should sound or at least their intention on how it's suppose to work.  I have resorted to using a 1 bar loop out instead of the echo on the mixer.  I hope this issue is resolved before you guys come out with another mixer and this one becomes obsolete.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Hopefully a firmware is released soon.  The current echo is rubbish and hard to make sound decent.

Thanks for your feedback. I've raised the issue with an engineer directly - thats all the information I have at this time.

It is not possible to change the specification of the echo effect on the unit.
