[SOLVED] DJM 800 EFX Dry/Wet Knob Problem

Hey everyone, just found this board when searching for a solution to a issue i have been having with my DJM800.

The problem seems to be confined to the EFX dry/wet knob.  When i toggle the effect on, it seems like the knob is shorting out or something and the effect is at 100%, even when turned to 0%.  What is strange is if i wiggle the knob a bit, it seems to temporarily fix the problem, or cause the effect to play at the appropriate percentage i have the knob turned to.

Has anyone had a problem like this and managed to fix it?  I have been searching around for a few days and havent been able to find much information.  Is there any way to replace JUST this specific knob "brain" similar to how we can easily swap out a bad fader?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the knob is broken. if you test the knob by wiggling and turning it should be very obvious that its the knob. you ill have to get it repaired. however if the dry/wet knob works for all the other FX I am a idiot!

Hi Max,

Thanks for the comment, actually managed to fix this problem long ago.  I completely forgot about this thread until I got your message the other day.

For anyone else with a similar issue, it ended up being the solder joint where the potentiometer connects to that main portion of EFX board.  Using a jewlers loupe, I was able to observe a break in the solder connection.  Simply adding a small amount of solder to reconnect these joints fixed the issue completely.
