I'd recommend Pioneer's SDJ-08s but on something more restricted budget you should consider the SDJ-05s - http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/44/1974/33610/overview.html

FollowMonitors for home DJing
I have a fairly crap pair of speakers at home which results in me mixing through the cans, hardly ideal. Any recommendations for a good pair of monitors at a fairly moderate budget? Thanx

Don't know if I'm allowed to recommend non-Pioneer gear?! But here goes.....!
KRK RP5 is the best monitor speaker I've ever come across. Not cheap, but not grossly overpriced either. And amazing sound reproduction.
I love my mackie mr8's
I use some HiFi Speakers, Mordaunt Short MS-20i's from years ago but they sound lovely. You dont need to spend a great deal on monitors just go to your local hifi shop and find some at your budget. It's really each to there own when speakers are concerned.
Guys > just like to remind you about the forum rules on discussion of competitors products...
Obvious decision to go with the S-DJ05's. ;)
If you have the money and the space, go with the 08's as you get a lot more power out of them, but I love my 05's as they provide a great flat sound for producing and you can use the EQ to change it up if you prefer. Plus, you can't beat the controller that comes with them. Everything can be controlled from the single controller which is far more handy than reaching to the back of your monitors and trying to match each monitor.
Go with the 05's and you certainly won't regret it!
My friend will be picking up his pair in a week or so.
I have just gotten sdj08, they area awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee
@volkanerkan > congrats on your purchase, glad you are enjoying them!
Prodipe Ribbon 8's
The pioneer speakers are pretty though! haven't heard them yet...
I use KRK Rokit RP6's. They give out some serious kick and volume, and sound pretty good to me.
