Computer jack cable is fine and is certainly the easier setup. Do you feel the sound quality is degraded?

[SOLVED] SDJ08 help
I own a pair of SDJ 08 speakers and was wondering if I set them up correctly. I connected them with basic cables I got from radioshack. Then I connected them to the headphone jack on my imac. Is this giving me the best possible dsound or should I connect them via TRS cables going from both my speakers to the TRS input on my m-audio fadst track pro? If so how would i do this and would i be getting a better sound instead of going straight from speakers to computer?
