RMX 1000 plugin - cracking sound - ableton

Hi,

i have a question, when i'm using the RMX in ableton as a plugin, i'll get a cracking sound on my output.

at first i tought it was because my cpu couldnt handle it (the track was packed with sends an a lot of vst's playing)

but i tried on several less packed tracks and they all had the cracking, mostly when turning any knob on the rmx.

is this a known issue?

thanks in advance

Steph J

A couple of things to check...

1) That you didn't have so many plugins running that the CPU was maxed out and the crackling was because of a lack of processing ability.

2) That the levels weren't maxing out and causing crackling because you were redlining the signal.

Hi i checked your things, and vst's is not the problem, but i am close to redlining the signal (+9db at some parts). is there a way to control the incomming signal when used as vst? because i can't seem to find it..

thnx in advance :)

You really should come in under 0dB - especially in the digital world.  The signal level can be adjusted by adding another device before the RMX VST; I use the Limiter which has a gain knob.  Even without enabling the limiting, you can turn the gain down so it's all at a level that suits you.
