@Steve > If you've tested with various CDs (including commercially pressed CDs and you are SURE the problem is not CD related) then it does indeed sound like a hardware problem. I would, therefore, encourage you to bring the unit to an authorised service centre in your area for repair - you can find links in the column on the right >>

Follow[CLOSED] CDJ-400 sound problem
When I put one of my CDJ-400's on the cd's don't register at first, I need to skip a track or two and even then the cd can pop out again as its not read it. Once this works (ive tried various CD's) the sound is very distorted/muffled which can last a few minutes of playing. At first this only lasts a minute or two but now its up to 10 minutes and you cannot mix when its like that. Eventually it does clear to how it should sound - any ideas please? Just need cleaning perhaps?? (not speaker related) Thanks in advance.

I have just tried a commercially pressed CD and it works fine, what do i need to do please? thanks.
@steve > Then it sounds like the problem is with how you burn your CDs. What software do you use to burn CDs? What kind of CDs do you use? What are the settings in the burning software?
