[CLOSED] CDJ400,DJM400, Laptop RE-build

Hey, I've just got some handydowns and since ii'm incompetent in the setup, i've just ran into problems which i'm unsure whether its the hardware of the software.

Current Set:

1 Laptop: Windows 8; Running Traktor 2.

  • - - -> 2x USB HIDs

2x CDJ400s - Updated Firmware to 1.33

 - - - -> 4x RCA Connectors (for CDJ400s)

1 DJM400

1 Pair Of Headphones

    • - -> 2x RCA (For Stereo)
    • - -> Stereo Amps

CDJ400s Drivers:

Downloaded Driver from Pioneer HOME Support - - - -> Pioneer CDJ ASIO ver.1.200

Installation Issues: Skipped: Pionner_cdj_asio.dll (in System32)

Downloaded on a separate desktop (running Windows Vista) - - - -> Installed (This time pioneer_cdj_asio.dll is within System32) - - - -> Transferred file unto a USB Flashdrive - - - -> moved it into my laptop's system 32 - - - > removed read property. - - - > registered with C.M.D. - - - > went back to device manager - - - > search and install driver - - - - >  Windows 8 can't find it.

Aggregation Issues on Traktor 2:

audio device: pioneer CDJ400 ( no connection) - - - - > pioneer CDJ ASIO (no connection) - - - - > downloaded ASI04ALL - - - - > no pioneer CDJ400 driver (refer to windows 8) - - - > no aggregation from ASI04ALL

I know that this system is older then the lint of my kindergarten uniform but i have figure out if its Windows 8 OS, The CDJ400 Driver or the Hardware. CDJ400s are probably the first DJ i've gotten my hands on so i hope you understand the circumstances.

@kyle > Ok, lets just make sure everything works correctly first... Can you set up the CDJs and mixer as normal - that means connecting the CDJ into the Line / CD Input on the mixer via an RCA cable. Can you hear audio playing correctly on both players (say, from a CD)?

Then, you'll need to connect the CDJs to your laptop via USB cable.

You can follow the setup step-by-step here.

Huh, i guess i forgot to document

Hardware: RCAs Quality- Okay (Checked independently by running audio with my Iphone via converters except the power cords.), USB HIBs - Okay, Power Cords - Okay, Stereo Amps - Check, Headphones - Okay.

CDJ400s to DJM400s - Works: CDs, USB flashdrives and hardrives = Audio input and output good.

CDJ400s to Laptop (Traktor 2): Link with USB HIDs, Set to PC MODE. Traktor works with the Decks e.g CDJ400 #1(Turn Encoder - - - -> Deck A) = Traktor Deck 1 - - - -> Visual Match - Check, Jog Wheel Recognition Check - - - -> Audio Output is (Fine on Realtek High Def Audio) which means that the audio input from the CDJ400s to the computer is fine (Windows 8 is still not recognizing the two CDJ400s in the device manager (refer to OP)) and the computer as the audio output - doesn't go through the DJM400 hence incapable of mixing.

I've followed the instructions to the book, however the main issue is if what i believe is Windows 8 and its inability to recognize the drivers or at least a file from the driver. (continue to refer to my OP's installation issues)

I would really like to know if Windows 8 is interfering with the Driver Installation. Without the drivers i can't aggregate or even know if the CDJ400s are even working properly.

Well its been a few weeks and i managed to streamline the issue to just windows 8's inability to detect the cdj400's drivers. I've checked the driver itself and i looked over at the compatibility over the driver for it. It was registered for windows 7 or older versions. If that is the case could you look over the drivers compatibility with windows 8 OS again or if there is another driver installation program i could use for windows 8? I know its really vague but for the past few weeks i can't wrap my head around this issue after following your instructions to the letter.  Please help me
