[SOLVED] windows 8 error 002 during the install of driver for mep_7000
I have a MEP-7000, and I have a laptop with windows 8.1. when I try to load the driver for the MEP I get all the way to the end and I get that installation failed error 002
I talked to a young lady in support on Monday and she stated that the driver should work for windows 8. also it is 64 bit. would you know if there is something I am doing wrong?

thank you for getting back to me Pulse. let me try to explain the events when I double click on the driver.
it will ask you what language
close any open programs
then license agreement....say yes
then it looks like its loading but
it will come back and say "installation failed" 002
I do not get the screen on the instructions you sent.
hey Pulse. here is an update on how I got this issue corrected. I feel that it is worth taking the time and putting it on here. You may pass on to your tech support group.
I had talked to some one there at tech support, I think it may have been Gabe. But anyways he felt that it may have something to do with "Driver Signature Enforcement" He was correct. I tried to contact Microsoft but they were not of any help. So I searched how to disable "Driver Signature Enforcement and I found this site. I have included the link.
it will step you all the way through. when I was done, I tried to install driver and it worked. It did ask me the question if I wanted to install anyways and it completed without failing.
@bgskip > The instructions I provided should basically do the same thing -- it "authorizes" it by allowing it one time.
Unfortunately as you found, Microsoft is useless - Google will always find better solutions!
Glad you were able to get it working and thanks for the link.
