Kernel32.dll error with new Recordbox install on fresh version of Windows XP

Hello.

I Haven't used Windows for a few years now since moving to the rock solid installations of ubuntu (which has never crashed or frozen across several desktops & laptops)

I've just put a copy of Windows XP on my laptop.  It is completely fresh and unmolested with no issues, no other software or hardware was or has been connected, & I've not connected it to the internet (& will not).

Tonight I also downloaded the Recordbox 1.5.0 .exe on my ubuntu machine, transferred it to the XP laptop and installed it with no issues.

Upon running recordbox I get an "Entry Point Not Found"  error which states: "The procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

The error occured every time I tried to start the application.

Don't know if it's relevant but I was not asked to enter a poduct key by rekordbox

  • so I uninstalled it, rebooted the machine & tried using one of the disc's that came with my CDJ's (version 1.3.1)

I get the same error message on attempting to start version 1.3.1 of the application.

Please help !

Have you updated your O/S?  Install SP3, and reinstall Rekordbox again.  Good luck!
