Batch Relocate Of Missing Files.. Help

Hey All

I am wanting to know the best way to do this without losing all my playlists, hot cue points, loop points etc.

I have all my music in a master folder on my desktop (no itunes bridge) and i am wanting to add id track info to every track (not to rekordbox as i want it to be a permanent thing), if i do this in itunes then drag completed music to my master folder can i rescan with out losing any information, playlists etc ?

any insight on this would be greatly appreciated as i wont do it until i hear from someone on here :)

if all you are doing is adding track info (editing the mp3 tags), why not just add the track info in Rekordbox? unless I am missing what you are trying to do.

if you do update tag info in iTunes you can then open RB, right click on the files and choose "Reload Tag"

Thanks Brichi

mainly because i want the info written into the track itself, i sometimes play on vinyl using serato so for the big job its going to be i just want to do it once, and also i dont use the itunes bridge, i drag music out of itunes into a master music folder then drag into rekordbox.

ok so then just edit the tags in iTunes, when you are done just go into RB's collection view, highlight all tracks, right click on one and update tag info, it will pull all the changed tag info into RB

I just import from the bridge each time since I had about 33k songs, I am always making changes to my itunes library at the moment.

Whats painlfull is I also have to put 33k songs back into 2 external hdd each time.  so I give myself 2 weeks before I re-load songs into it.

batch relocate tracks in rekordbox

(simplified for others)..

(have all your rekordbox tracks in one folder)

in rekordbox highlight all tracks in missing tracks window (ie select top track of list, hold shift, then select bottom track of list)...

when you relocate one track it will ask you if u want to relocate the rest. job done.

Honestly it is isn't as smart as i expected. Missing files (in my case) are located in Sub Folders so when Rekordbox asks to search all the other missing files in the same location it can on only search for files included in that sub folder. In Traktor you can choose a root folder and it automatically searches among all the files and folders (sub folders) located inside that root folder.
