...and ANOTHER complaint about the new update!

I have spent a VERY frustrating few hours trying to simply run some tracks thro' Rekordbox and then transfer them to a USB for a gig tonight. Quite simply, the software crashes constantly - I've had major problems trying to import some new tunes and more problems trying to move existing tunes in my collection over to a USB and create a playlist for tonight. I had to re-label lots of tracks and manually fill out details for at least 50 of them and then when I moved them to my USB after trying about 6 or 7 times with the software freezing and/or crashing repeatedly, I then couldn't go onto the USB and delete old playlists.

I'm now faced with the choice between simply putting the tunes onto a USB directly from the computer and not being able to see the waveforms etc tonight when I use the 2000s in the club, or going back to Traktor which i don't want to use at this gig.

Seeing as most people who use this software are DJ-ing at a professional or semi-professional level, I think you've really messed up a lot of people's work this weekend. Why you released what is clearly effectively a Beta is beyond me and also beyond a lot of users. I've recently converted to Rekordbox after using Traktor/MacBook for 4 years with only about 3 problems in all that time. If you don't get this software running properly for people like me, I think you will lose a lot more people who made the change like I did. I think most DJs expect better from Pioneer than this. You could at least make it possible for people to reload the previous version of Rekordbox whilst you sort the problems out.

I second this posting fully! Pioneer is not respecting the very people they depend on to buy their gear. Please Pioneer, get your act together and at the very least make previous versions available with downgrade instructions!

You have ruined my gig tonight as well!

I had the same problem and as Pioneer refuses to resolve it or provide v2.0.1 again, I thinkered around a bit and the following fixed it for me (don't ask me why):

  1. Reinstalled Rekordbox 2.0.2 (drag old to Trash and then install again)
  2. I converted all the songs in my playlist to MP3 (some where ACC or "Purchsed ACC Audio File"
  3. Reimported (from iTunes using Bridge) into Rekordbox
  4. Obviously had to set the Cue Points again

Now all transferred without any problems.

Try it! If it works for you, post here so others can try as well.

Cheers,

Roberto

Well my fears were at least partly justified - I took the USB with the tracks I had managed to put thro RB to the club but also took a USB with the ordinary unanalysed same tracks on. When I was using the RB USB, after about 4 songs in, I cued up a song and it would not play at all - the waveform was visible on the CDJ but it wouldn't start. Then about another 3 songs later, I cued up a song, mixed it in and after about 30 seconds, realised that it was a song I'd played less than 20 mins before and had to get another song into it really quickly to get out of it fast, which didn't sound great really. The track  did not have the right name/artist info - but I know I didn't enter the information manually, so it was a RB issue. After that I decided to use the other usb with the tracks that hadn't been put through Rekordbox and play without waveforms and cue points.

What I'm surprised about here i that nobody from Pioneer seems to be getting back to any of those of us who have got problems - Even Native Instruments have people in their forums who will answer queries or problems. I would have expected better from Pioneer. They must be aware of the problems with the software, yet they do not seem to want to address it.
