Rekord Box reading mp4 files

So I got a pair of the new CDJ 2000 Nexus and I am a Serato user and I know there is no HID control yet between the Serato & the Pioneers but I am hoping it will happen in the near future, though I was going to just use Rekord Box but I use a lot of mp4 videos but the new Pioneers cannot play that file format.

I don't always need to play the video but the good thing about Serato I can still play the video file and just use the audio. I do this a lot using Serato and the CDJ 900 's in HID mode. I knew before getting the 2000 NEXES they wouldn't play videos and I don't need to players to actually play the videos that's why I use Serato but you would think if Pioneer was making a flagship CDJ that it would be able to at least play the audio from mp4 video files.

Funny thing is that Rekord Box will analyze mp4 video files but the CDJ's will not play the file. How hard would it be to make the new CDJ 2000 Nexus play the audio from mp4 video files?

Though hopefully Pioneer & Serato will get the HID mode to work on the Nexus players, though I really like all the new features of the CDJ 2000 Nexus and I am really trying to make them work but I will have to stick with using my CDJ 900's on most of my gigs.

Though in closing I know I can always use the control CD's that Serato supports but after using HID mode it is hard to go back to the control CD's :)

Virtual DJ PRO FULL 7.0.3 natively supports the CDJ2000 NEXES, plug and play. It supports almost every video format you can think of as well. It's worth having a look at .

I am not going to use Virtual DJ, the CDJ Nexus will eventually be supported by Serato no need to spend anymore money.  I am just using the control CD's now but the sad thing is that RekordBox still doesn't work 100%.   I am not getting the large waveform display on the CDJ's on a lot of my files.   Some files it works and some it does not, but I have noticed since the new upgrade that all of my files I have prepared with loop points and or memory markers those are the files that the large waveform is not being displayed.  ????  I have posted this in the CDJ Nexus forum but I have yet to get a response or any kind of answer.

I think Pioneer released a product too soon and are using the general public as its testers at our expense!
