2 Rekordbox suggestions

Referring to this closed topic:  http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/23333647 I do have the following 2 suggestions:

1st suggestion:

  • Exporting a playlist to a formatted clean  USB-stick works fine
  • If you edit the playlist on your PC/Laptop and export is again, it is updated fine
  • But if you edit a musicfile on your harddrive that is used by this playlist (name of the musicfile stays the same but the content of the file is updated, let's say you delete the first 2 seconds of a musicfile since it is 2 seconds of silence) and you export the playlist again, the file is not updated
  • Would it be possible to files compared with recordbox? If changes (hashed or anything?) have been made, Rekordbox export the file and overwrites the existing file.

2nd suggestion:

  • If, for some reason, you deleted a file from a USB-stick that is part of an exported playlist and you export the playlist again. The deleted musicfile is not exported again
  • Would it be possible to let Rekordbox check if all exported tracks are still available on the device you are exporting to?

Kind regards,

Hey Louis- a lot of people have made that 1st suggestion quite a lot on this forum and we hope there'll be a future update that addresses that issue. It's annoying cause if you adjusted the beatgrid on your computer/laptop after exporting it to a hard drive, only way to add the updated version of the file is to delete it from the hard drive and re-add it.

as for the 2nd one, it would have to be the same feature in rekordbox that checks what files have been deleted & also knows what files have been updated- then it'll be able to re-add the file to the hard drive/SD card. The feature has been suggested before so let's hope it get's added :)

Hey guys.

I've had this problem 2. Best way for me is when you're going to delete files of playlists is to Format the USB.

Well yeah the simplest way is to delete and re-export everything all over again- just wish there was an easier way within rekordbox itself. Some system than would analyze the tracks in your playlist vs. the playlist on the external device and see the changes made instead of having to re-export all the tracks again.

In my case there's over 1,000 tracks in my "Summer 2013" rekordbox folder and 7 playlists within that folder- so deleting/formating the hard drive everytime is time consuming. Fingers crossed they add the feature after all our suggestions-
