[SOLVED] help with rekordbox migration

i recently had to reinstalling my os, i looked at this guide to try and restore my RB exactly to the way it was

http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/20658308-migrating-your-rekordbox-database

i can see the tracks, i have my colours info my ratings, keys etc but none of the tracks have any wave data and my cue points are out :(

im absolutely gutted, as i spent so much time doing all the cue points on all my collection

has anyone ever been able to restore exactly the database as the way it was after an os reinstall?

i have the same username and the files are on the same drive letter F: and i have followed that guide and it doesnt work :(

please help guys

it has to be the same exact drive letter and drive name, and you had to back-up the rekordbox files that are explained in the topic you posted. I've done it twice from WinXP to Win7 & 8 with no problem at all, just make sure you copy the files correctly first- I used a program called "Extreme Copy Pro" that makes sure the files are in the exact same structure & location to ensure a flawless transition. Just to be safe I always back-up the rekordbox files in case the OS crashes or some disaster strikes the computer/laptop. There are soooo many tiny files rekordbox backs up (like artwork and beat-grid data for each track) it aint large files but there is at least one or two for each file you have in rekordbox- hence why backing it up might take some time.

Sorry to say but u might have to re-analyze ur beat grids- or import them from an external hard drive (with the playlist syncronize feature in rekordbox 2.1.1 or later)

got it working, see attachment

had to copy the Artwork & USBANLZ folders from the old system that I backed up into:

C:\Users\Zeu$T\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\PIONEER

'Zeu$T' being the username :)

so happy!

might try it on WIN8 now

Nice one!! Glad it worked- everyone should back-up their entire rekordbox folder (even if it's a gigabyte) just to be safe... congrats! :D
