Huh So far i discover the intelligent playlist, so if you klik on the "+" button, wich till now it creates playlist (inside folders or not), now you can create some intelligent playlist's where you can set some conditions (bpm, date added etc). Looks intresting.

Follownew rekordbox 2.2
Anyone realizes any difference?
changelog:
- New intelligent playlist feature.
- Increased speed during synchronisation.
- KUVO compatible.
- Fixed a rare issue where the CDJ-2000NXS would keep displaying “NOW LOADING" when a track is loaded.
What is the new intelligent playlist feature? I installed 2.2 and all i saw was that my categories in the playlist was a bit messed up. For example i didn't have the rating column, and after installing 2.2 it was there...

I tried the intelligent playlist feature and it is a step in the right direction.
I only export files via playlists to my SD card. I exported a playlist with the configuration of 2 different genres. All files were exported correctly. Than I changed the playlist config to other 2 genres and exported it again.
All tracks are displayed correctly in the "new" playlist, but also the tracks from the "old" playlist config are still on the SD Card but not assigned to any playlist.
I assumed that the further export will also delete the not included tracks from SD.
Does anybody know how to handle this issue?
This was in version 2.1.1 the same.. They should add an option to delete the files from usb or sd wich are not exist anymore in the rekordbox library..
Could have done with the intelligent playlist feature from the offset but glad it has now been implemented. If only we can get rekordbox to only update files that have been changed rather than reimporting all files
Supposed increase in speed of transfer??? Its slower than it ever has been!!!!!
INtel playlists are broken too if you link you CDJ's to your laptop, they show up as empty folders instead of full intel lists
Think the progress bar is on the blink also, 78% complete transferring 1073 tracks? I am only on track 363......
Lol you are lucky, mine isnt even displaying the number of tracks transferred!!!!!
Mine doesn't display the count either, just percentage. good update so far, lol
You are both right it isn't tracks it is counting. I just checked the usb all tracks count and there is only 923 tracks. What exactly is it counting then directly above the progress bar?
mine just shows the progress percentage like the pic below, no track count at all.
Are you using a pc or a mac? As mine has a count eg 5/102, albeit the progress bar doesn't go in tandem with the count
Mac
Ok so it not a difference between operating systems then as we both have macs. how did you manage to do the screen grab?
I will transfer some tracks to a spare usb and show what I have. I don't recall it being new, I am sure the count had been the last few versions of RB. I had just assumed it was relating to number of tracks it had to transfer.
im on 10.8.5. this is strictly when I use the synchronization feature. If I just do a normal export it is fine but when I click on the drive when I plug it in and it syncs automatically, I get no track count
you can screen grab by using shift+command + 3 for full screen or shift + command+4 to drag and select an area
Yeah on the sync transfer mine is identical, no count
and now the 10 or so Intelligent lists i set crashed when i synced to a USB and then reset ALL THE LISTS to just artist and lost all the settings on each list I did. GREAT!!!
Was this sync feature available in previous versions?
Am I correct in thinking that if I export some tracks without cues to usb, make some changes within the app e.g. adjust beatgrid, add cue, hot cues, memory point etc. The next time I plug the usb in, it only updates the changes? Or am still dreaming?
it was in 2.1
well kind of, it will update the changes BUT it only updates them if it's in a playlist and it re-syncs the ENTIRE playlist instead of just making the change to the 1 track, its a step in the right direction but needs a lot of work
Well I can't comment on the sync feature as to whether there is speed difference, as I hadn't realised the feature was previously available, so have nothing to compare it to. However updating 5 tracks across 2 playlists of 15 tracks each, has just taken about 7 mins? Might have to find the other usb key and time how long it takes to transfer without the sync.
Couple of thoughts though, I know transferring of files isn't only down to processor speed, it also relies on flash read/write speeds
1) Is Rekordbox 32 or 64 bit app, is capable of multitasking?
2) Why do we have to look a dreary transfer dialogue box when we could be checking through the rest of our collection?
32 bit and single core, still
exactly!
Considering this software is meant to be the backbone of all Pioneers high-end DJ kit, seems bit in dark ages not to have software utilising the maximum horsepower the computer can provide. However it does now explain all the lockups & complete crashes I have had when exporting large playlists to my usb's.
I thought with all the error reports Apple have received from me over the last couple years may have tempted them into advising Pioneer there is an issue with the software. I wonder how many pc users have the same gripes with lockups & crashes?
so glad i didnt bother with two huge gigs this weekend... very nearly updated last night when the little pop up said there was an update ready!
yet another worth while update.... sorry to be so negative but pioneer please get your act together with these updates - working djs need this stuff to work 100% - if there's slightest doubt about an update.. dont release it.
still a fan of releasing updates to a select few out in the field before going global with a potential bombshell...
Ill sit tight with the previous level i think!
Right I managed to do some testing last night and this morning as follows:
1x Sandisk Cruzer Edge 32GB capicity
Total of 25 Playlists 15.7GB - Total of 1108 Tracks
1 Sub folder containing 12x Pre-Prepared Sets - Total of 174 Tracks
13x Intelligent Playlists - Total of 922 Tracks
Test 1: Playlist containing 1 track, 1 track set with initial cue point & rating - 49 secs
Test 2: Playlist containing 18 tracks, 1 track set with initial cue point & rating - 1 min 4 secs
Test 3: Playlist containing 62 tracks, 1 track set with initial cue point & rating - 1 min 18 secs
Test 4: Playlist containing 232 tracks, 1 track set with 10x memory points, 3x hot cues, Active Loop - 1 min 43 secs
Test 5: Same as above, forgot rating! - 1 min 43.83 secs
Test 6: 2 Playlists, 1st containing 113 tracks, 1 track set with initial cue point & rating. 2nd containing 322 tracks, 1 track set with initial cue point & rating - 2 mins 23 secs
Test 7: Same as above but chose a different track with in each folder, 10x memory points, 3x hot cues, active loop & ratings - 2 mins 12 secs? Weird!
I think I can safely draw a few conclusions:
1) Rekordbox can't count correctly!
2) It appears to be only writing to the files you change
3) Dependant on changes eg No x Memory Points, hot cues etc, increases time to transfer the track (Pioneer to compress this data!)
Other than the above, so far I have notice this build seems more stable? Normally RB would have crapped out on me by now! Other than about 3 failed attempts trying to update the old version this version hasn't beach balled me yet with the spinning disk of never ending fun!
Ridiculous...come on Pioneer, when will you start giving us updates that don't break things?
I am not updating rekordbox, no thank you. I've learned my lesson with the CDJ2000 NXS firmware.
Really starting to get sick of these half arsed updates, what kind of morons to pioneer employ to test that miss these issues repeatedly? Animals?
How did they miss the empty folder bug (as brichi stated) when looking at intel playlists through rb link on the cdjs
They really do treat us like mugs
There's really is no defence, other dj software companies never have half these basic mistakes
Guys i agree with you all about rekordbox, the bugs, the quality control of the releases etc. But..
I recommend to all the pro's of you the use of usb3. The sync, whatever change i make, happens so fast.. Just a few seconds and its done..
Can Pioneer please employee Bri Chi? It really is only logical since he seems to immediately find every single flaw that the developers miss
I agree , lol
