Migrating from PC to Mac

I have read other posts but they are quite old. 

I am switching from Windows to Mac. My music is on an external drive however I appreciate Windows and Mac file systems are different.

My assumption of what will happen is this

• My playlists/folders etc will remain in tact but I will have to 'relocate' all of the files - correct? 
• What happens to Cue points etc?
