This was changed on later models of the CDJ-2000, but not the original model, sorry.
And no, there is also no "gated" mode for the hot cues either; pressing the button will begin playback regardless of the player state.
Hi... I started to use Rekordbox and I have the following Problem:
I added some Hot Cue Points at Rekordbox to my tracks and now I want to call them over the A B C Hot Cue Buttons
at the Pioneer CDJ 2000 (see screen01.jpg).
When I export my database to my usb stick the cue points will shown in the display (see screen02.jpg)
But I can´t call these cue points via the Hot Cue A B C Buttons on the CDJ 2000. They are not active (see screen03.jpg)
Does anybody know what´s wrong?

you haven't "called" them up yet, Hold down the rec/call button under "C", the cues you set will blink and you press them to load. Only on the 2000Nexus (and R1) will they load automatically for you
So they cant be auto loaded on CDJ 2000? I have to call them every f. time for each track?? How bad...
Also, do they really have to autoplay always? For example, I want to prepare my track on "B" and have it paused there, not autoplayed! :(
ola I have the same issue, I have tagged all my tracks with hot cue and when export to USB and plug in into the CDJ Nexus 2000 I m using they dont display ;(
make sure hot cue is set to auto load in rb settings and on tracks
yes it's all good, I ve checked my CDJs nexus software is old 1.4 version maybe I need to update so it displays, could it come from that issue more than my export action?
not sure where to find the latest version and how to update my CDJs though lol let me find online
