Hi I have 2 mac book pros. 1 for djin and one for producing. I backed up my collection from my dj laptop and restored it successfully on my production laptop. After a week of preparation and gigs on my dj laptop I figured it would be quicker to re-do a back-up and restore from computer to computer...No such luck Restore keeps failling. I have since deleated everything rekordbox related on my production computer and tried to do a fresh restore...never works. Both computers are very similar. Both on the most recent OS, Both have the latest version of Rekordbox.
Very annoying...failed to restore collection with no details.

Solved my problem by deleting all the music in my downloads & Music[user/music] folders (where the original restore had placed them). I also copied the contents from user/library/pioneer/rekordbox on my dj laptop to the same location on my production laptop before starting the restore. I should also mention that I uninstalled rekordbox using appdelete before restoring on my production laptop.
Is it possible to restore collection from a pc to a macbook ? Im having the same failed to restore collection error trying to do it.
@dudeburger I read that you can't go between pc and mac.
but I'm having the same exact issue with mac to mac. and I also tried copying contents of the rekordbox folder in user/library/pioneer and still doesn't work. it seems like when you try to restore to the new computer, the data in that rekordbox folder are rewritten again (I can tell by looking at the revised date/time on that folder). any other tricks I can try? kind of scary to think that if my main computer crashes I won't be able to restore my library at all....
