[SOLVED] Track skipping in 3.1

Right now I just updated to 3.1 and been having issues with random tracks skipping like 4 beats ahead for no reason, and I can't figure this out. This doesn't happen all the time just once in a while I here it and I'm baffled by it. I never had the issue before with previous versions and I'm trying to narrow down what it could be. I run a Mac Book Pro with a 500 Gig samsung SSD 2.53 GHZ intel core 2 duo 4 gig of ram and running Yosemite. I have a cisco linksysy either fast EZXS55W ethernet switch 5x10/100base connected to my Pio Nexus rig (aka 2000 and 900 mixer)

just to add to this being I have been helping Marc out

This happens in Mavericks too so its not the OS and it was a fresh install of Yosemite

this also happened before the Samsung SSD was installed so its not the hard drive either

Ethernet cables were swapped for brand new ones

can't be a single deck issue in my opinion being this started happening recently to both decks at the same time

Last thing i suggested to Marc was to play strictly from an extern USB drive for a few events eliminating the possibility of it being the laptop or RB OR downgrade to a previous version like 3.0.3 that he knew worked properly

@Marc > You could certainly be suffering from other issues, a Core2Duo is several years old now (5-8yrs?), it could be a performance issue. Can you go to the Apple in the menu bar and go to About this Mac. Click System Report and give me the first page of hardware info (minus your hardware serial number and UUID).

Pulse, I have been working with Marc on this, this happens when playing from USB sticks too so it is not longer just a computer issue. Marc has video and files that he reproduces this with and will upload them asap for the engineers to look at

Thanks BriChi, but answers still provide additional information.

Hey Pulse, Sorry I didn't post earlier, Was working,

I have attached the 2 videos showing what is happening, "All about bass" happens about 4 seconds in and "SuaveMente" about 9 seconds in.

I also attached the actual tracks which play fine in iTunes, Serato, etc..... but you can hear a tiny "blip" sound at those spots but no jumping like the CDJ's do.

Again, this happens when playing from RB on my laptop linked to the decks or from a usb drive so it is not my laptop

Please let me know if you need any additional info

The best that the engineers can come up with after testing is that it is most likely a corrupt file.  As the methods of handling errors are different in rekordbox and CDJ, the behavior on each media is different.

@Marc > To follow-up on Jay's comment from the engineers; one thing you may want to try is opening the file in an audio editor and seeking that "blip" point. Look for any anomalies, correct them if possible and save the song to a new file and see if it still has the issues.

I'm marking this as solved and closing the thread but if you have issues like this again, please start a new thread and link to this one.
