I can set the first beat but if the beat slows down and then picks back up the first beat can be off 2 or 3 bars towards the end of the song. The previous version of RB I could set the (first beat) in the middle of the song without moving the first beat at the beginning of the track but I am not sure how to do it in RB 3.?

i've uploaded a few screenshots .... may be can help u... when u find the point where u want to adjust the beat grid click on the tab like in the first & second picture... when u done click the tab like in the third picture.... repeat the procedure if u find off beat grids... sorry for my english :( hope this is what u need
