[SOLVED] Saving Beatgrids

I only use my CDJs with rekordbox and usually set everything as I go with my decks.

If I set my beatgrid using my CDJs, would they save to rekordbox and retain their settings for every other session?

I know this is true for cue points and hotcues - just wondering if the same applies to beatgrids.

If you are using the players linked, the information is updated automatically in rekordbox. If you are using USB drives, you would need to "Update Collection" in order for the beatgrid to be updated within the software.

Thanks Pulse,

They are linked - was hoping this was the case!

So long as you don't also have the track loaded to the internal player or multiple decks, there should be no problems and any changes made to the beat grid or rating should be saved back to the software over the link.

I'm thinking of upgrading my mixer to the DJM-900nexus, mainly for the Quantized beat effects, plus other additions.

I know the mixer will match the beat grid of analysed tracks in rekordbox, but if adjustments have to be made on the fly using CDJs (linked), will the mixer

also reflect the beat grid in real time?

Provided the effects have the rekordbox quantize button enabled; yes! Any of the beat grid information is "live" on the player, and that info is sent to the mixer. I believe the actual changes to the file are sent back to rekordbox after the track is unloaded from the active deck so as to prevent any damage to the data while in use.

Just another thought on this. Does it make any difference if the rotary knob is always in Grid mode for the beat grid to be saved?

I mean, I havn't got to keep pushing the knob to get back into Zoom mode? I always have it in Grid mode if I need to make adjustments.

I don't want to keep switching between Zoom and Grid every time I want to make a change to the beat grid and for it to be saved.

I notice if I make any adjustments to my beatgrids, when exiting rekordbox it saves settings before completely exiting which I assume are the beatgrids saving.

This happens when I have the rotary knob in Zoom or Grid mode, and only happens when I make beatgrid adjustments.

If I use the program and exit without changing any beatgrids, it completely exists.

Can you confirm my beatgrids will still save when in Grid mode? I hope they do.

In order for it to write to the file you need to either load another track or exit the beat-grid edit mode.

Thanks

Playing around with them right now an I can confirm the beatgrids do save when kept in Grid mode ONLY if another track

is loaded into same player. If it's the last track, be sure to exit Grid mode in order to save.
