migrating v3.0.0 to new laptop - problems
Hi Gavin,
Please forgive my blond moment but I am having problems with migrating version 3.0.0 to my new unit.
I followed the instructions as per post dated 7 November 2011.
On the new unit, music library database/ path mirrors the old unit (D:\users\kanniev\desktop)...which contains all my music
From the old unit, went to the "D -drive", roaming....rekordbox -> copied ALL the information except the license onto a 8gig flash. (about 600 MB's with about 30k files)
On the new unit, I have loaded Rekordbox v3.0.0, which when opened is empty.
From the steps in the post 7/11/11 - the steps there after I am having a problem.
Do I copy all the information from the new unit & label it "OLD FILES", then paste the info from flash drive in it's place. Tried that and when I open rekordbox from the shortcut on the desktop, it gives me an error message.
please help...

And I assume the D drive is an external drive?
My recommendation would be for you to upgrade both computers to 3.2.1 and then use the external database method. It's simple and would then avoid any problem with the migration.
