Moved my iTunes Media folder to external HD... now rekordbox issues.

Hey all,

So I recently moved my iTunes media file to my external HD due to sheer size. Once I opened iTunes i had to locate one file and then iTunes scanned for the remaining missing ones.

I then open rekordbox and set the preferences to find the new media folder and there are still hundreds of songs "missing" but are still playable in iTunes.

I then proceeded to reimport a playlist I had just created which then rekordbox magically showed that the tracks were 'found' but it had erased all my cuepoints each song that did this.

Is there any way to fix this?

First, you shouldn't have re-imported the tracks; they would then get identified as "new" and overwrite the existing data. You should select all and use the "Relocate" feature - that would maintain the cue point and waveform data for each track.

What didn't work, it didn't relocate the files? Do you possibly have the iTunes preference set to allow it to manage your media files?
