I believe the RX only connects to the rekordbox app via the network (wirelessly) and USB connectivity is not available.
So I have the Rekordbox app on my iPhone and if I plug it in via USB cable to a CDJ 2000 nxs it works fine. I've just purchased the XDJ RX and tried the same thing and the only way it wants to connect is via wifi. I dont rely on this feature but I usual have back up music on my phone should I ever need it. Obviously as it stands I can't use this feature with my new player but would like to. Everything is up to date, latest firmware on XDJ RX and latest software on iPhone.

Will USB connection be available with a future firmware update? I purchased the RX for the odd gig that doesn't have a nexus set up and i'd rather take my iPhone with the Rekordbox app than my laptop to these gigs. Setting up a wireless router is not an option really.
@Martyn > I can't confirm that at this point, not having an RX here to test or knowing if that is a planned feature in future. I'll ask and see what kind of answer I can get, but I'm expecting it to be "wireless only."
It should work okay, tested it in Dawsons a few months ago when the unit was first released. Connected okay in Feb via App and RB on a Iphone 6
Worked okay via USB
@Martyn > I've confirmed with the engineers that it will indeed work with the USB cable when using version 1.3 of the app:

There is a video on usage here:
Yeah, I did exactly that and it wouldn't connect. Said it was looking via wifi as soon as I hit the load icon. I will triple check through everything again but i'm pretty certain everything is up to date.
Give it a check and let me know.
@Martyn > The engineers have offered this as a follow-up:
It could be a problem with the authentication chip in the RX if it doesn't get recognized by the RX when connected via USB.
@Martyn > Requesting a follow-up on the above.
Apologises - yes it was down to the cable. Have to make sure it is authentic other wise its not recognised at all
Awesome - glad to hear switching cables got it to work, I'll let the engineers know!
