For the same reason when you're in a playlist the search scope isn't your entire collection.

RB 3: Search shortcuts
Why on Earth have the developers omitted the Search Box from the Shortcut folders?
The whole point in me separating genres into different folders is to find tracks easier, but with RB3 I can't even search within those folders
making it pointless to have a Shortcut.
The Collection folder has a Search box so why can't any other folder?

Doesn't really answer my question...
Traktor does it well so can't see why RB can't.
You have shortcuts to have easy access and faster choice to certain tracks. Make it more efficient and user friendly by enabling these folders to be searched.
