Rebate for DDJ bag...

Want to do this, but I read you have to send your ORIGINAL receipt? What If I bought warranty at [STORE NAME] or incase of return don't you need that receipt?? And they only give you a month after you bought it to send it in.... Kinda sucks... Most places take copies...

I'll just say this Chris, ehem, SOME *wink wink* distributors can do a customer lookup and reprint you a receipt.  That is confirmed by the way.

is there a rebate for the bag for customers who have already purchased controllers?

@Ron > Sorry, no, the rebate is only for purchases made within the promotion period, sorry.

@Chris > You can often have the store print a duplicate copy for your records for warranty purposes.  The original is required (along with the UPC from the box) so you won't be able to return the controller after you receive the bag, thus getting a bag for free.

It's very upsetting to know that those of us that purchased the T1 or S1 when they were first released had to pay more for our units, and that we also didn't get offered a bag. Make me consider not even looking at Pioneer for my next equipment purchase.

I would have to agree with B-LEVE, It is an extremely competitive marketplace out there amidst a suffering economy. I don't care how many gigs or doe you are demanding. DJs have to spend wisely and take care to make the right choices for gear. i do understand Pioneer is doing this promotion to boost the visibility of the unit. However, to NOT offer a rebate for those who arguably helped to promote the DDJ series. Let's face it. Controllers on this scale are new to the consumer market. I can not tell you how many DJs and audience members have stepped to me inquiring about the unit. Who knows how many sales this translates into?

Pioneer should really reconsider at least offering some incentive for the early cats out the gate who have supported them with this product. I researched for over a year other controllers before deciding to go with the DDJ. I even considered buying another for our arsenal? NOW I am not so sure. I always maintain brand loyalty based on how a manufacturer both stands behind their product and most importantly how they value their customers.

Example:

Our company owns the entire line in the QSC k-series product line. I had a road case for a k10 that was defective. I purchased the bag from an authorized dealer. I called QSC to ask what I should do? I even called the wrong dept. I ended up speaking with Tech support. Without hesitation the rep told me "keep the damage bag, I will send you another". THAT LEFT ME FEELING EVEN BETTER ABOUT USING QSC PRODUCT. THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. They have every right to be arrogant due to the success of the K-Series. This was not the case.

I would challenge Pioneer to step up and show that they are a formidable company who values our patronage! By the way. My rep at Guitar Center Boston told me the promo was extended through Oct and had Pioneer signage displayed next to the DDJs that clearly stated the promo went to the end of October?

@Ron > Sorry but Pioneer won't offer retroactive promos because if they do it for one product, they'd set a precedence and have to do it any time they dropped the price or offered some kind of give-away.

Hey Pulse...

regardless, it does not sit well with me what so ever! Pioneer dropped the price to become more competitive. Let's face it, the average consumer does NOT have 1200.00 bones to drop on a fairly new technology. I just feel there is a distinct niche customer who wants this technology and values this type of portability thus bought this unit. I have been programming music for 30 years. I collaborate and counsel tons of jocks on what to buy. This could have been handled quite differently. I am sure I am NOT the only person salty...

If anything, Pioneer should have ran this so called Promo out the gate and offered an incentive to those who purchased initially. Like that of Serato, they constantly offer significant software pdates and promo music to those who purchase there products. They understand the power of promoting via their consumer base and building brand loyalty.

@Ron > I sympathize with you - I would always prefer to be treated well as a loyal customer also.  But please remember that Pioneer product pricing is always above that of the competition.  If you bought the unit at whatever price, obviously you were comfortable doing so or you would have waited until the price dropped (or bought a cheaper alternative).  If I had bought an iPhone 4 just prior to the 4S announcement, I wouldn't expect my retailer to give me a discount to the new price or replace it with a 4S model simply because of my timing.  Likewise, the price drop and promotion can't be applied retroactively.  Sure it would be nice to get a bag for free, but this is a fairly standard practice in most every industry.

Pulse..

I am NOT saying that at all. I actually waited a year before buying a controller because the competition's offerings were poor quality. I got a decent deal. We all know what that is about anyway. My issue is incentive after the fact. I have less of an issue with price. You get what you pay for always! You can not deny Pulse that a promo could have been done when the unit dropped. I understand promotions. I worked for Polygram/Universal for 10 years as the Northeast Artist Development Rep. I did tons of cross promote with like companies.

Were good. I appreciate your spin on it and follow up.

Bliss..

Hah!  Polygram / Uni?  You likely know my dad.  I'll email you re: that offline.  ;)

Unfortunately this is not something I have any control over and any input I'm providing would have minimal impact on the way they operate the promo.  It wasn't offered initially because they simply didn't have the bags; they weren't even designed at that point!  The promo and price drop were to try and provide incentive for buyers and to increase sales.  They already had YOUR sale... ;)

I recently sent an email inquiring about this as well and Pioneer pretty much blew me off and patronized me on email.... I was one of the first to purchase/use the T1 in the NYC/NJ area..... I use it every single weekend (not in my bedroom) in the clubs..... I give the piece tons of exposure... I even have the rep from Guitar Center calling me still from time to time with customers on the fence to help close sales and give support on certain aspects of the the piece and Traktor Pioneer edition.... Its a straight slap in the face to not do something retro for those of use who purchased the piece and took a chance on brand new technology from Pioneer..... Everything I use on my gigs is Pioneer.... I'm a walking billboard and I'm constantly being asked tons of questions on the T1 when I show up for a gig.... I don't want a rebate on headphones.... I want to protect my controller properly... but not for 300 bucks... that's ridiculous... give us something Pioneer... at least half off or something.... show us loyal customers that what we do for Pioneer is appreciated..... DO THE RIGHT THING.......

Yo DC..

enough said, bro. you and i are same page with it. like i mentioned earlier. companies like rane (serato) with the software upgrades and qsc with free 3 year extended warranty are "doing the right thing". in the end, when you have doe ready to spend on something if two manufacturers have the same product, same quality, your going to remember who gave you love and showed they valued your loyalty. more importantly who treated you like a "step child" and merely took your loot.

Howdy Pulse,

I'm just short of two months now since processing of my rebate, and no dice on my bag. Is there any way to check on it other than the third party company who didn't really know too much about it? He was nice and said he'd put in another request, but I really don't see how he could do much.

@DC > Sorry, but if GC are contacting you to close sales for them then you should be charging them a commission or demanding some freebies. As Pulse has stated above, Pioneer can't implement retro-active promotions. If you use the unit every single weekend you are obviously quite happy with it so you can hardly consider it a 'bad buy'.

@geminimech > I don't believe there is any method of checking on our end, no.

@Kalen > You can always try haggling in stores when you are purchasing items to see if they will give discounts on other items.

Currently, there are no promotions on the Ergo.

Well damn. :)

I'm hoping I at least get one. I know that they Pioneer disclaims that it's while supplies last, but supplies should always last if they produce them right? Also I got mine in within the end of the first week of the rebate offer :)

Crossing my fingers that it shows up!
