DDJ-S1 or DDJ-T1

I am thinking of selling my CDJ & DJM 350 setup and buying either the DDJ-S1 or DDJ-T1. I have never used either Traktor or Sorento and Im unsure which system to buy. I see that the DDJ-S1 is more expensive. Why? Does it have a better setup than the DDJ-T1 or does it have alot extra effects.  Could someone please give me some advice as to which unit they think is better and why.Thank you all for your time.

Hello,

I had the same thing. It is what you want do you want 4 decks or just 2. And there is a Traktor 2 demo what you can try sadly there isn't a Serato Itch. Most of the functions of S1 you can find also in T1 only the SLIP function you don't have on the T1. And If you upgrade to Traktor pro 2 then you have much possibilities. I for one have chosen for the T1.

I prefer the simplicity of Itch, Traktor, while it has a lot of functions, is overly complicated for getting down and dirty.

i went for the T1. the ONLY issue i have with it is that each channel doesnt have a VU meter which makes getting your 2 songs evenly balenced on the audio level. 2 channels do have a poor VU meter, on mine i think there set to channels C and D but in the settings i think you can chage the on screen channels to A and B. im considering opening my T1s up and see if i can fit meters into the channels but unless you know what your doin with wiring and pcb's keep well away from this! there is a master out meter that shows when your clipping but that doesnt help with the audio level on the track your bringing in.

That is there only downfall to mix with they are amazing for feel and id say they were very user compatable. i was using vinyl untill mark at Fabtronic Northampton gave me a demo of them. Bought them there and then!!!!

If someone from pioneer could contact me bout the VU meter issue that would be great

just a quick update. i have been lookin into this problem over the weekend (as its REALLY getting on my tits now!!)

N.I are looking to bring an update out for traktor that will include vu meters on each channel. my idea of opening the pioneer t1's wont work!!

The majority of work is done by the cpu with the T1 as with the S1 the hardware does more of the work from what i have been reading. therefor opening the t1 to add vu meters to the channels is pointless.

in the meantime while i wait for N.I to get this u[pdate out im trying to find a vst plugin vu meter that will work with traktor but this is prooving to be a lil tricky. if i do find one i shall post a link up on this page ;)

Well Try to reinstall Traktor. Because it is there without any changes that I made. What you also can try is to use my Traktor settings?

Surrounding each deck is a gray area or box outline. In the very center on that thin gray strip, at the top of the deck, double left click with your mouse to change the view of the deck and mixer area.  I think there are 4 different views, play with it until you get the desired look.
