DDJ-T1 Map for djay

I've just created a DDJ-T1 MIDI map for Algoriddim's djay software - it's a basic start but covers the majority of what beginners would want to use.

Disclaimer: Until Algoriddim or Pioneer officially releases a MIDI map, my map will be considered beta and you are using it without warranty, or guarantee of function.

Download the map file here.

To install the file, simply double-click on it in your finder.  For more information, see the djay documentation or support site.

Here's a breakdown of the mapping; channels C & D are unused as the software only supports 2 decks:

  • Browse Knob = Scroll
  • Press Browse Knob = Toggle Pane
  • Tree Button = Focus Playlists
  • Favorites Button = Focus Tracks
  • Load A = Load selected track to Deck 1
  • Load B = Load selected track to Deck 2
  • Channel fader, EQs, gain, crossfader, headphone and master controls are mapped as expected.
  • Channel A FX1 Button = FX Active
  • Sync = Sync
  • Play = Play
  • Shift + Play = Jump to Start Point & Play
  • Cue = Cue
  • Shift + Cue = Set Start Point
  • Jog = Pitch Bend
  • Jog Platter = Scratch (Note: sensitivity adjustable in the MIDI settings, very easy to do)
  • Auto Loop knob = Loop duration
  • Auto Loop press = Auto Loop on/off
  • Loop In = Loop In
  • Loop Out = Loop Out
  • Active = Loop on/off
  • Function = Toggle Jog Seek Mode (scratch / fast seek)
  • Touch Strip = Move through track; it does not jump like other software, it works like a slider, you can use any part of the strip to pull / push the position in the track
  • Mode = a secondary shift button, noted when used
  • 1 = Hot Cue 1 Set/Play
  • Mode + 1 = Delete Hot Cue 1
  • Shift + 1 = Play Sample 1
  • 2 = Hot Cue 2 Set/Play
  • Mode + 2 = Delete Hot Cue 2
  • Shift + 2 = Play Sample 2
  • 3 = Hot Cue 3 Set/Play
  • Mode + 3 = Delete Hot Cue 3
  • Shift + 2 = Play Sample 3
  • Key Lock = Key On/Off
  • Filter Knob = Filter (No need to press the Filter button, it will illuminate to show that the Filter is active)
  • FX1 Select 1 = FX 1 Next
  • Shift + FX1 Select 1 = FX 1 Previous
  • FX1 Select 2 = FX 2 Next
  • Shift + FX1 Select 2 = FX 2 Previous
  • FX1 Select 3 = FX 3 Next
  • Shift + FX1 Select 3 = FX 3 Previous
  • FX1 Knob 1 = FX1 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX1 Knob 1 = FX1 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX1 Knob 1 = Sample 1 Volume
  • FX1 Button 1 = FX1 Active
  • FX1 Knob 2 = FX2 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX1 Knob 2 = FX2 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX1 Knob 2 = Sample 2 Volume
  • FX1 Button 2 = FX2 Active
  • FX1 Knob 3 = FX3 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX1 Knob 3 = FX3 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX1 Knob 3 = Sample 3 Volume
  • FX1 Button 3 = FX3 Active
  • Key Lock = Key On/Off
  • Shift + Key Lock = Match Key

======== ALL CONTROLS SAME FOR DECK B/2 EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING ========

  • Channel B FX1 Button = Deck 2 FX Active
  • Shift + 1 = Play Sample 4
  • Shift + 2 = Play Sample 5
  • Shift + 2 = Play Sample 6
  • FX2 Select 1 = Deck 2 FX 1 Next
  • Shift + FX2 Select 1 = Deck 2 FX 1 Previous
  • FX2 Select 2 = Deck 2 FX 2 Next
  • Shift + FX2 Select 2 = Deck 2 FX 2 Previous
  • FX2 Select 3 = Deck 2 FX 3 Next
  • Shift + FX2 Select 3 = Deck 2 FX 3 Previous
  • FX2 Knob 1 = Deck 2 FX1 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX2 Knob 1 = Deck 2 FX1 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX2 Knob 1 = Sample 4 Volume
  • FX2 Knob 2 = Deck 2 FX2 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX2 Knob 2 = Deck 2 FX2 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX2 Knob 2 = Sample 5 Volume
  • FX2 Knob 3 = Deck 2 FX3 Wet/Dry
  • Shift + FX2 Knob 3 = Deck 2 FX3 Parameter
  • Shift + Mode + FX2 Knob 3 = Sample 6 Volume

I hope I didn't miss anything, if I did, you can find it in the mapper quite easily.  As you can see, there are a lot of buttons and knobs unused and waiting for you to assign them to whatever you want!  I have mapped out some of the LEDs as well, but I did notice some conflicts and in some instances, they didn't illuminate until something else had changed.
