Have you tried another USB cable?
finaly i install the firmware i must push the shift and sync bottons, but yesterday i have the same problem stops 2 times the music for one second...
i change my usb cable and i tell you!
You need to check the latency settings in the Serato DJ software first. Make sure the number or latency is as low as possible without getting breaks in the music.
Also read the DDJ-SX manual and it tells you what kernel settings adjustments you need to make using the DDJ-SX utility. The utility is a program that was installed on your computer when you installed the Pioneer DDJ-SX drivers.
One more thing that can be causing this is that your hard drive might be momentarily going to sleep in the middle of playing the track. Also theres an audio buffer setting in Serato that can be adjusted in SETUP if youre getting audio drop outs.
Check all of these possibilities
thanks DJMe for the reply the latency i have it at 5ms but i have audio drop outs and i turn it at 20ms and i have again problems!!!
i dont see anywhere in manual for kernel settings do you remember the page? thanks!!!
and i dont have sleep mode!!!
i find kernel settigs in manual but i cant find it at my mac
kernel settings is only for windows users! i'm a mac user!!!!
yesterday the sound stoped 3 times for one sec when i play music....
i have a powerfull mac with 8gb ram!!! this is not right! with traktor and serato scr. live i dont have any issue!!!!
i play music and the same time i have 3 other programs open and never stoped!!
I think I have the same problem. The audio drops like 1/2sec, maybe once every hour.
I'm using the lastest Macbook pro 15" (with SSD). Never had that problem before, using Traktor or VDJ.
Because of this, I cannot use my DDJ for live... kinda sad !
the audio latency which level is???
yesterday i put it at 2ms and i have only one audio drop... today i put it in 1ms and i see... i tell you tommorow!!
I'll report this back to the engineers, but always approach tracks that drop out as either the track or software. I'm not pointing fingers here, but have found that bad files or sw getting a bit glitched can cause a momentary drop. Remember that this is brand new sw that we are using with the SX and like ALL audio sw in it's begining there is a curve time.

this is a very good news!!!! i try to play with traktor!!!
yesterday i play with latency at 1ms and the audio not drop out.... all the program stoped!!!!!
now i play only at 2ms i have only one dropout in 5 hours
how to continue the music without push play during the brake time when i play the soft music
I'm having an issue with the audio going out for like 1/2 second at least 3 times yesterday. Also I can't use the mic because it sounds bad. I played with the gain lowering it down and it still sounds distorted. Any answers pioneer or serato?
I'm running it with a MacBook Pro 8GB Ram 2.4Ghz 1TB Hard drive
I have had a very good experience with my unit so far, but I also get a sound dropout a half second or less once in each set.
Before with Scratch Live i would get an occasional program freeze but the audio would continue to run in the background until the program would start back up, but on Serato DJ both the program and audio drops out.
I think we need another firmware or software update right away to fix this.
Thanks guys.
really... serato and pioneer must do something!!!! thats awful!!!!!
Another problem carried over from the S1!!!
I have the same problem with my ddj-sx, i tried to find a pattern but no luck.
It's happening 2-3 times every hour, about 1/2 sec.
I copied my comment and posted it on serato.com to see what serato has to say about this issue
Given that it's v1.0 of the software, there may be some issues but we'll report them back to the engineers who can pass them along to Serato so both teams can try and troubleshoot.
when i load a track on to my ddj sx it wont play any suggestion any help pls
DDJ SX is having also a Firmware Issue!!!!
Playing with a T410 Type 2537 Win 7 64bit with Samsung 512Gb SSD.
New Installed all drivers updated.
After playing 25minutes by loading a new song the controller crashed.
It was not anymore possible to change the volume on the unit or to manipulate the song.
Only solution was a hardware reset. Really a major fault!!
I thought the mixer is autonom but seems this is not true.
just think your are playing in a club and this happens and you have to switch of the music for secounds!!
This think is really not usable at the moment.
Hope Pioneer and Serato are working on a solution.
Actual i can not use this thing
i also have problems with drop outs music stops for .5 seconds I was useing an old macbook os 10.6.8 2duo core processor 100g hard drive thought that was the problem so i used a mackbook pro and got the same issue.i have a gig coming up and cant have that happening.also updated the software now when I try to turn on the effects it really stops for a second cant mix a full cd set without drop outs help!
Have you tried to move your buffer level to the middle then hit apply try that
After months of latency and audio problems with different controllers,
here is how I rsolved my issue using a simple trail and error procedure.
I use a Dell 15z Laptop, Windows 7 Ultimate, 64bit i5, 256gb VERTEX 2 SSD, 8GB RAM
Note: I had the same issues on the Numark NS6, DDJ-S1 and DDJ SX running ITCH and SDJ, the below worked for all devices.
It may work for you.
2. Disconnect the DJ controller USB cable from the laptop.
3. Boot up laptop, let it settle/ finish loading all startup apps.
5. Power on controller and let it run through initiallisation
Insert USB cable into laptop (connected to your controller) and allow Serato to pick up controller.
Play you tunes
Since I've been connecting this way all of my latency issues have been resolved.
(Running Serato and Pioneer driver at 512mb sample buffer)
Let me know how you get on, hope this helps.
Thanks Jason, I just tried your thing but my audio just drop half a second, again. It is a major issue, please pioneer do something...
Sorry to hear it didn't work, Try disabling the LAN port in device manager as mentioned on Seratos website.
I am having the same problem. I have a Mac 10.6.8. I have used Scratch Live and Traktor running the S4 with Traktor and the DJM 2000 and two CDJ 900s. I also run Ableton at the same time and I have never had a dropout. With the DDJ SX I am having dropouts every 10 minutes. I can't trust this unit live.
Ok guys, you really need to keep your own issues to your own threads please. Cross-posting is making it very difficult to follow everyones issues. If anyone from this thread is still having issues, please open your own thread and we'll address your issues there.
