[SOLVED] Ddj sx freeze with new MacBook air

Hi, I used to work with macbook pro and recently switched to the new mac book air (mid 2013) with Mac OS X 10.8.4. I never had any issue with the macbookpro but since I switched the ddj-sx freezes all the time in the middle of a playback. The software is still responding but the controller not... I tried to uninstall and reinstall serato several times but the problem keeps showing. I updated the ddj-sx to the latest firmware but no improvement. Don't know what to do anymore... Any suggestions? Thanks

Frédéricbel

@Frédéricbel > Are you sure the Macbook Air meets the system requirements of the software and hardware? Have you tried adjusting the latency settings in Serato? Have you also tried disabling any background apps that may be running as well as disabling WiFi etc?

@Frédéricbel > Ah ok, interesting thread. The issue is obviously occurring with the MacBook Air so. Have you tried using a USB hub between the SX and the laptop? I saw this question mentioned in the thread but didn't see any reply.

Yes, tried both self powered and with independent ac USB hubs but both failed :(

Ok thanks, I'll raise this with the engineers to bring it to their attention.

This should be a major concern, my company bought 3 DDJ SX's and none of them can be used with the new MacBooks. Whats the status on this?!

I am having the same issue. Was previously using a MacBook Pro and a Sony Vaio...never had an issue. I am lucky if I get 10 minutes of use before the controller freezes. This is a major issue and flaw within the software that makes the equipment totally useless

This is also the case with the DDJ-Wego, though it takes a little longer to appear (usually 5-15 minutes of playback and using jogwheels.)

Hello guys, I also would like to confirm having a big time issue with DDJ WeGo running on brand new Mac Air 11" and Traktor 2 Pro. After a while playing with  2 or 4 decks, doing some scratching etc, the machine freezes and only the audio goes through. When I check the System Profiler, it shows that WeGo's USB runs on 12MB/s speed ... not sure if it's related but thought to point it out. I've tried to plug it through USB 2 hub, swapped USB ports, changed USB cables, etc.. but without any success. Off-course I've updated firmware, software, uploaded tsi file etc... and did excessive research (this forum redirected me here http://serato.com/forum/discussion/1052265)  but so far no idea what is the problem. . . I do not want to return Mac Air - i love this machine, but .. what to do???? I am stuck, but please, if anyone finds a solution, please let me know. . . hope we'll solve this in a good way. All the best, Vlado.

Some people claim that the freeze is fixed with  a new beta 10.8.5 (to be released in september). http://blog.shade.sh

Gonna try it now.
