[OPEN] DDJ-SZ ERROR: Failed to connect MIDI device
ill try to make the long story short..
at first the SZ would connect but I was getting noise in the sound, I format the SSD and did a fresh new install of Win7 pro, seratoDJ and video, and all the basic drivers needed.
Now with serato open every time i connect the SZ controller i get this message on the bottom left corner: ERROR: failed to connect MIDI divice. windows seem to detect ok the controller. but serato toldme It may have a bad unit. anyone had this problem???
so far i have not been able to use my SZ controler since I pick it up.

@oscar > Sorry, this is the first I'm hearing of it. Have you tried troubleshooting by using a new USB cable and connecting it to a different USB port on your computer? The other thing I might suggest is that you try upgrading the BIOS firmware of your laptop. Check the manufacturer's website for details on that.

Please follow the steps below to enter the Utility settings of DDJ-SZ to ensure “Auto” is selected.
1. Press the Play button and Shift button on the left deck and the Power button at the same time to enter the Utility mode.
2. Please ensure that the [KEY LOCK] button is off. If it is not lit, “Auto” is enabled.
If the [KEY LOCK] button is lit, press the button to turn the light off.

- Make sure your windows 7 is running with service pack 1.
install all your windows update then download the service pack 1 and install it . after all this your ddj-sz will work !!

Hola, yo tengo el mismo problema del error Midi. Tengo Windows 7 actualizado con server pack 1 y la última versión tanto de la Sz como de Serato DJ. ¿Alguna solución?

I use this same pc with a SX and ZS but only the SX give me this problem...
Sound does come out from the aiudio ouy but serato fail to detect the SX controller.
