Volume of LINE and PHONO inputs on DDJ-SX is very low.

I have a DDJ-SX that I am using with Serato DJ as well as a single vinyl turntable. The turntable is an Audio Technica LP120 (a knock-off of the classic Technics) that is switchable between Line and Phono output. I have tried the turntable as an input into both the CH2 PHONO input, and the CH4 CD input. In both scenarios, the volume of the turntable output is very low, less than 25% of the volume of the Serato output, but the VU meter still reads as equal to the Serato channels. This is in both the Phono and Line settings. I can get the output to be sort of close if I set the Serato trim at 8 o'clock and the turntable to 4 o'clock, but then the VU meters are waaaaay off (The serato output is barely moving and the turntable meter is constantly red).

I tried the line output of the turntable going straight to my speaker system and it outputs at roughly the same volume as the Serato output. I also tried using an iPhone as a line-level source, and it also outputs at a very quiet level compared to Serato. Is there something I'm missing regarding setting external inputs the DDJ-SX, or does this sound like a faulty product?

@William > If your turntable is in PHONO mode, you should be connecting it to a PHONO input on the SX (CH1 or CH2), and the input selector switch on the front should be set to PHONO.

From the sounds of things, you've got the selector switch set to LINE and thus the phono signal isn't being properly amplified, which is why you have the gain all the way around at 4 o'clock.

The turntable has both phono and line outputs, and I have tried both CH2 and CH4. Serato support was able to help me solve this problem but turning down the master output from inside the Serato software, and compensating with master output on the SX.
