Traktor wav form lag with DDJ-T1

I've been pretty satisfied using Traktor with the T1 since about the time it launched a few years ago. It wasn't until the past 2 nights the music all of a sudden cuts out and the wav forms go suuuuuper slow within traktor. The weird thing is when I press anything or turn any of the knobs on the controller, it shows up on traktor immediately and at normal speed the way it's supposed to. But the music still won't play and the wav forms stay slower than ever. I've tried switching usb ports and chords to no avail and it seems every time the controller is reset (turned on/off) it gets fixed but only lasts for about 30 seconds or so and immediately goes back to wonking out. I also set the latency to the lowest setting and no difference.I'm running Traktor 2.5.0. on a mid 2012 macbook pro 2.5 GHz i5 and 16GB RAM on Yosemite (10.7). Again, the controller and traktor have worked flawlessly together for almost 2 years now. This just started yesterday. Any ideas? All help appreciated!!!

Thx for the OS correction. The weird thing is, when I unplug the t1 while the music is supposed to be playing, Traktor goes back to normal and plays both tracks like it normally would. It appears the lag only happens with the controller connected. Could this be a problem with my specific T1? Sound card perhaps? I never mess with the settings or anything in traktor so I don't even see what could have possibly changed that would make it freak out from one day to the next. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm not sure - it could simply be a bad mapping and the software things the hardware is sending a control for it to play at a slower tempo?

Are you able to test it with another computer?
