how to stop humming sound coming from speakers when board is plugged in.

I have a DDJ-SB controller and when i plug into cpu and turn speakers on I get a humming sound. I have plugged from head phone jack and also from phone and never had humming only when I plug in controller. I have made sure speakers are grounded using same power supply. Hope to hear back soon I have gigs every weekend and it is really becoming a problem. Thanks for any response.

Recommendations:

  • try unplugging the computer power supply

  • try using a different USB port

  • eliminate possible ground-loops

I have had the same problem with my old DDJ-S1.

It was not the computer power supply. Even on Battery i got a permanent noise and noises !

But a ground loop between DDJ-S1 USB and HDMI mass of my beamer.....

i've bought an USB ground loop isolator :

USB isolator HIFImeDIY ADUM4160.

It's night and day, no noise any more....... my DDJ-S1 have a second life.

I don't understand why DDJ-S_ unit are not natively protected from GROUND-LOOP via USB Mass or sector.

I will upgrade with a DDJ-RX or a DDJ-SR, but i've read  that the are a lot of ground loop problem.

My another USB DAC with the same PC dont need a USB GROUND LOOOP isolator.

Only the DDJ-S1

Please, protect more your expensive units from GROUND-LOOP with built in mass filter . it's kill the very good pionner sound quality.

If my experience can help. just add and USB ground looop isolator
