My XDJ-R1 also does this through my Mackie SRM450s too conected via XLR.
Never had the issue with my DJM600 which i also used balanced outputs too.
Hi,
I've been searching for this, and found that all pioneer controllers has the same issue. If you search carefully in almost all controllers someone has reported this issue, asking only about cables and connections, without any positive response.
This problem has been overlooked by pioneer. Im currently using, R1, SZ, Wego, and a set of cdj 2000 + 900 nxs mixer. All controlers has the same issue, a loud loud hiss or white noise even when master is turned down or off. Simply connect any of above mentioned controller with balanced cables in balanced output (with or without notebook connected) to any professional powered speaker, like qsc k12 , turn on the controller and hear the noise. For example djm 900 does not have any kind of issue and or noise, nothing. But controllers does. It is not a ground loop noise, so no need to look in that way. I thinks bunch of people do not care or can not tell difference. Being professional for more than 20 years can tell you that this is major issue. Im usually use large PA and in all of them have the same problem. Is it not about the pa, the mixer, the cables, and/or the speakers. After several time of searching everything point to the controller.
I thought that ddj-SZ includes a djm 900 inside....
Here in Argentina our electricity is 220v. 50 hz.. Our connectors are class I (AS-3112).
Any clue??
Thanks in advance for reply
Robert

My DDJ-SZ does the same. you can hear that noise and is loud.
Any solution to this ?
I've used almost every single one of Pioneer's controllers and never had what I could consider to be noise or hiss outside the usual acceptable amounts. If you have your computer disconnected and the controller still makes an unacceptable amount of hissing (and the hissing stops from your speakers with the controller disconnected), I would suggest you contact Pioneer technical support from the links located to the right.
I was just googling hissing from Pioneer mixers and Robert I totally agree with you. I just got my DDJ SZ and I noticed the hiss right away. I hate it. It also has this annoying click sound right before you turn the volume pot all the way down. The hiss decreases a little but as soon as you raise the volume, click and the hissing is louder.
This has been going on for over a decade because I had a 2005 Pioneer DJM 1000 and it clicked and hissed like a snake. At least it had the attenuation control on the rear to turn it down a little. You would think after 10 years somebody at Pioneer DJ would say, hey, do you hear that clicking and hissing sound? Your key words are professional for 20 years and I for a decade longer. Experienced PA folks want quality sound over any performance pad or effect. I'll probably go back to my stand alone mixer set up.
