CDJ2000 Standby Mode leaving switched on for a long time

Hi Guys,

Nice clean look on the new forum.

We rent out cdj2000's to various events and decided to leave the cdjs swicthed on last weekend due to the temperature dropping throughout the evening so we didnt get any condensation in the screens of the 2000's. Is there any reason why you shouldnt leave them on for 70+ hours at a time?

After the second night I got up in the morning to do a quick check before dj's started playing and one of the cdj's was in standby mode. Nothing on the deck would work and there was a small red light on in the top deck corner. Just like a tv would, power on and off sorted this out.

If it is best to leave the decks switched on in cold weather (english summer) for a long period of time then is there a way to stop this button coming on?

Cheers

@Ash > Obviously the standby mode is something that's becoming more prevalent in electronics, mainly to adhere to environmental concerns over excessive power usage - some countries even mandate its implementation on equipment now.  Having the units power-down when they're not used is a good way to extend the life of the components (such as the displays), and you would certainly save on the electrical bill, but there isn't really any harm that can come to the player by leaving it powered-on.

To disable the sleep mode, find the setting under the UTILITY menu and turn it to off.

Just to add to Pulse's post, you're also better off storing the units in an appropriate room temperature environment than leaving them on. Some insulated cases may help or similar covering.
