E-8305 error , data format error

I get this when I try to play a M4A file that I get (download) from Promo Only (POOL), but if I download the MP3 version it plays...why is that???

Isn't M4A better??

please educate me.

M4A is not a supported filetype; MP3, AAC, AIFF and WAV are the only supported filetypes by Rekordbox and the CDJs.

It's not quite the same thing... MPEG-4 Part 14 or MP4 (formally ** ISO/ IEC 14496-14:2003*) is a multimedia container format standard specified as a part of MPEG-4. It is most commonly used to store digital video and digital audio streams, especially those defined by MPEG, but can also be used to store other data such as subtitles and still images. Like most modern container formats, MPEG-4 Part 14 allows streaming over the Internet. A separate hint track is used to include streaming information in the file. The only official filename extension for MPEG-4 Part 14 files is *.mp4**.

Some devices advertised as " MP4 Players" are simply MP3 Players that also play AMV video or some other video format, and do not necessarily play the MPEG-4 part 14 format. [2] [3]

@noah > It's usually best to start your own thread to since this is an older issue and doesn't seem to be related to your issue. ;)

Could you please start a new thread and answer these questions in it?  :)

What OS are you using?

Do you have the LAN cables connected to an Ethernet Switch that has no administrative software or firewalls on it?

Have you disabled you wifi if it's a notebook, disabled your firewalls and set your ethernet to use DHCP?
