i wouldn't personally rely on link for an event as i always use 2 x usb.

CDJ 2000 Freezes during play back.
Not sure why, but since I've upgraded to the new 4.0.5 firmware yesterday, I have a problem with the decks freezing up for a couple seconds at random times. I don't have the master tempo turned on and everything is connected properly. I never had problems till now since I upgraded. Please give some insight because I have a gig tonight and need these hunks of plastic working :)

Need a bit more information than "freezes". Does the playback stop? Does anything appear on the display? Is the music source connected directly to the player or is it over the link? Have you run the source track through Rekordbox? Has it been checked for errors? Etc.

my problem is pretty much the same but only on the 1 deck, the playback just stops so far into the tune, its happenning with USB and LAN pro link through rekordbox

also its only since the 4.10 firmware has been installed any idea how to reinstall it a message comes up saying its already up to date

@jamie > if the firmware installed correctly the first time its highly unlikely you would need to re-install it, particularly if the player is saying it is up to date. Have you all firewalls open and antivirus set to allow the traffic? How do you playback with USB? Are you using Serato SL or something?

Be sure to check the cables too - sometimes a bad ethernet cable can be the problem!

Yeah the update seemed to help with stability, but i haven't tried newer Ethernet cables, any suggestions on really good cables? Other than that everything is smooth. Thanks for the feedback!

Not by brand, just try it if you have problems -- even sometimes re-seating the cable can help.

Hi, in case this is a cable problem and since you insist on buying better Ethernet cables, try buying CAT5e FTP or CAT6 specifications cable and also be sure that the plug and patching is perfect. I would prefer to patch my own cable rather than buying them ready made from factory.
It appears that lots of ethernet cables available on the market are DOA, no matter the manufacturer or the country of origin. Since a cable is considered as a consumable product, then such issues are expected and almost all issues are because of bad patching or bad plugs used.
